Tammy King is a mother of five children, four of whom go to the Thomas Edison North Campus. She received both her bachelor's degree and master's degree in English from Utah State University. During graduate school, she taught English 1010 and 2010 at Utah State University, and she also taught students at a youth correctional facility. After graduation, Tammy worked as a proofreader and a project manager in publishing. She helped compose textbooks for Pearson Education, Allyn and Bacon, and several other large publishing companies. Having passion for and experience in education, she now serves on the board for Thomas Edison Charter Schools. In addition to her love for education, she invests her time into her children, who are excelling with the Thomas Edison curriculum, into serving in her church, and into running marathons, recently qualifying for her 3rd Boston Marathon.
