Having experienced both public schools and Thomas Edison Charter School, her favorite things about TECS are the structured environment that prepares students for higher education, the positivity used by teachers to foster respect and increase students' confidence, and the resources offered to give each student the opportunity to succeed.

Ryan and his wife Tarah have enjoyed being active supporters of TECS with their daughter Gracie since 2021. The early roots of his life on the ranch are still part of he and his family’s life today. In his spare time Ryan enjoys riding a barn full of horses with Gracie; teaching her to move cattle and barrel race, and he actively competes in the World series of Team Roping.
Ester grew up in the small town of Grantsville, UT. She studied at Utah State University, earning her bachelor's degree in Social Work and, more importantly, meeting the love of her life. After graduation, the couple spent their summers in Pennsylvania, where they built a successful pest control business together.
Driven by a desire to raise their family in Utah, Ester and her husband returned permanently to Cache Valley. As the business flourished, Ester chose to step back professionally to focus full-time on their four children.
Life on their farm keeps things busy and fulfilling. Ester loves spending time outdoors, especially caring for the many animals on their farm—dogs and horses being her favorites.
Courtney's love for the TECS community is grounded in four years of experience teaching in our middle school at South Campus among a team of truly remarkable peers. She attributes both her professional and personal growth to her time teaching here. She is currently a stay at home mom of four kids, two of which are now TECS students. Courtney has a passionate about the core values that uphold our educational philosophy at TECS, particularly in regard to high achievement and the parental partnership between parent and teacher. Courtney received her Bachelor's Degree in English and Language Arts Education at Utah State University in 2013 and is an active supporter of her husband's band program at one of the local schools in Cache Valley--often seen carting the whole gaggle of kids to his high school concerts and events.
I was born and raised in Cache County. I have three grown children. My wife and two of my three children are educators. I have over 26 years in law enforcement, and I am currently running a division for the Sheriff's Office. I cherish being a lifelong learner and view the road to success as getting paved with bricks of failing well. I have an Associate's in Criminal Justice, and I am finishing a Bachelor's in Psychology with an emphasis in Organizational Behavior. I look forward to continuing to learn, grow, and serve.
