Qualifications:
I like to work at Thomas Edison because of the positive, uplifting environment it provides. I feel supported in my teaching and enjoy the families I get to work with each year.
I married my husband in 2002 and we have 3 children. They have kept us busy throughout the years in their various sports and activities. When I'm not chasing them around, I love to travel, hike, bike, and read. My favorite family activity is to escape to southern Utah as a family whenever we get the chance. It is my "happy" place.
Before I started my family, I was going to school for a degree in Secondary Education. I didn't finish because we started a family. When my two oldest children were entering their primary years of elementary school, I felt a big tug to resume my college education, but this time in Elementary Education. I thought about how I was sending my littles off every day to a teacher who I prayed loved them and cared about their well being. It inspired me to be that teacher who parents would feel comfortable sending their children to knowing they were safe and loved in my care. I love the children I teach and am grateful for the things they teach me as well.
