Parent Organization

Parent Organization

Edison South

We encourage parents to get involved and help, whether in the classroom or organizing activities or providing school leadership. Parental involvement is a key to the success of Thomas Edison Charter Schools.

All parents or guardians are encouraged to volunteer for the school. Parental involvement will:

  • Allow teachers to focus more on their teaching instruction by relieving them of some of the everyday secondary tasks required in the classroom,
  • Provide parents a feeling of ownership in the school and their children's education,
  • Develop strong parent – teacher relationships that will be effective in enhancing and maximizing the learning experience of every child.

Why have a Parent Organization?

According to the Parent Handbook, the purpose of the Parent Organization (PO) includes:

  • To increase and facilitate parent involvement at in-school and extra-curricular activities,
  • To assist and support the administrative staff,
  • To provide appropriate activities, for students and their parents, that create a sense of community, education, growth, and enjoyment.

We are always in need of more volunteers to help make these wonderful activities possible! For more information, please contact the PO Presidency at tecspo@edisoncs.org.

We meet monthly on the 2nd Thursday, all parents are welcome! Please view the Edison South calendar for time and location as it alternates each month.

The Parent Organization accepts donations and sponsors school fundraising events. You may make contributions using cash, check, or Venmo @ThomasEdison-South; QR code below.
